Costing Project Level Settings

If your domain email is @ellisdon.com please note that this page is for the previous version of Gate Three's Costing user interface.

Costing configuration is available only at the Project Context level.
This area can be modified by any user that has the appropriate  Access Control Level (ACL).

This configuration section includes three sections:

Original Budget Settings

If this section is configured to "Yes" - any user that has the access to the Budget Module, will have the ability to modify the Original Budget Amount.
If this section is configured to "No" - no user will have access to modify the Original Budget amount in a Budget line, after it is originally saved.  

Modify this setting:

  1. Navigate to the Costing Settings Module in the Project Context.
  2. Click on Override.
  3. Choose your selection. (Yes, or No).
  4. Save the Settings.

Project Original Budget Amount

This configuration is a prerequisite to be able to Save any Cost Accounts in your project. This is where your Project Original Budget is configured, as stated in your Prime Contract. 

Modify this setting:

  1. Navigate to the Costing Settings Module in the Project Context.
  2. Click on Revise Project Original Budget Amount.
  3. Fill out the Description and the Project Original Budget Amount columns.
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Save the settings.


Allocated & Available Amounts

This section provides a quick overview of how much of the Project Original Budget Amount has been allocated to Saved Cost Accounts.

  1. Navigate to the Costing Settings Module in the Project Context.
  2. Project Original Budget Amount: Configured in the section above. (Project Original Budget Amount)
  3. Project Original Budget Amount Allocated: Total of all Saved Cost Accounts on this Project.
  4. Project Original Budget Amount Available: Difference between columns 2 and 3.
